Fields of Lupine Festival

The Fields of Lupine Festival is an annual event celebrating the blossoming of the lupines in New Hampshire's north country. Nowhere else does this beautiful wildflower figure so prominently in the landscape and the ethos of the region.

Early June sees roadsides and fields carpeted with this unique New Hampshire wildflower. You will enjoy views that are serene and awe inspiring at once. The communities of Bethlehem, Easton, Franconia, Sugar Hill, Twin Mountain, and Bretton Woods all join together to celebrate the coming of the lupines and to showcase the region. Every year they put together a host of great events around the flowering: garden tours, historic inn tours, concerts, sidewalk sales, and art exhibits.

"Call Me William: The life & Loves of Willa Cather"

Written and performed by Prudence Wright Holmes.

In the 1880’s and 90’s in her small Nebraska town, Willa Cather shocked her family by cutting her hair off, wearing men’s clothes and insisting her horrified friends call her “William.” She continued her life as a transgender male throughout her college years, until she was almost expelled from the University of Nebraska for her relationship with classmate, Louise Pound. Today there is a dormitory at the university named in their honor. Cather was then forced to assume a female identity. She got a job as a drama critic in Pittsburgh where she met love of her life, Mellon heiress, Isabelle McClung. McClung was her patron and helped her get her novels published. But she broke Cather’s heart when she suddenly married a man. Cather’s work became her refuge. She went on to become the second woman to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1923. She always said “Being a woman never damaged my ambition to become Pope or Emperor.”

Prudence Wright Holmes has been in four Broadway shows and eight movies, including Sister Act I and II with Whoopi Goldberg, Kingpin with Woody Harrelson, In Dreams with Annette Bening and Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last movie, God’s Pocket. She has written solo shows about Agatha Christie and Harper Lee. She performed her autobiographical solo show, Bexley, OH! at NY Theatre Workshop.
We are thrilled to welcome Prudence Wright Holmes to The Highlands Inn for the first time. This performance is free to guests of the Inn.

Belonging & the Embodiment of Love With Intuitive Astrologer Liz Gunn

We will gather together to explore the deeper meaning and spiritual quality of the planetary influences as agents of healing. You will receive a personal message from your astrological blueprint as it relates to themes of self-change. Since June 2012 we have collectively been catalytically catapulted out of our comfort zones. This recalibration has lifted the veil of illusion around what keeps us separate, in pain, or attached to beliefs and scripts that no longer serve our personal evolution.

The birth chart, in relationship to these current trends, reveals where this healing has and is taking place for you. The messages I receive pertain to a soul quality of expression and paint an emerging picture of your original agreement.

Please pre-register for this gathering and send birth info – date, time (exact as possible – okay if you don’t have your birth time) & place of birth – to Cost: $30

Please pre-pay upon registration via the PayPal link at the bottom of my Home page on my website @
