- Heather Rose, January 8-10:
Winner of 4 Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll Awards,
including Best Female Vocalist and Best Song “Here Again”, Heather Rose's melodic, magnetic vocals follow in the tradition of Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, and Aimee Mann. Boston's The Noise, where Heather took home Best Female Singer in 2001, wrote “She can sing sweetly or lustily, scream righteously, and draw the audience in. Her songs are folky, gently twangy, and lovely.” Whether she’s performing solo or rocking the stage with her band Heather Rose & The Drama, you’ll hear wailing rock anthems, slower pop ballads, country twanged ditties, and of course Heather’s trademark break-up tunes. Heather's pop-rock sensibility and numerous musical styles create a new interpretation of rock to make you think, feel and move. www.heatherroserocks.com
- Kiya Heartwood (Friday) & Inky Glass (Saturday), January 22-24:
Singer songwriter Kiya
Heartwood is half of the award winning folk and roll duo Wishing Chair. Kiya is also the former lead singer and songwriter of the MTV/VH1 Artista band, Stealin Horses. This special solo concert will feature songs from her 8 CDs with Wishing Chair including their latest, Stand Up 8 as well as songs from her upcoming third solo album. "With award-winning songwriting and musicianship, Wishing Chair never fails to create that exhilarating sense one gets when great melodies, strong harmonies, and superb execution come together.” -Performing Songwriter Magazine. www.wishingchair.com or www.kiyaheartwood.com

- Inky Glass, Saturday, January 23:
Inky Glass has performed internationally as a tap dancer, singer, actress, and an annoying street mime based on Charlie Chaplain. In addition, she has written and performed several one woman shows and a full length play produced in Philadelphia and NYC.
Musically influenced by a wide variety of artists from Patti Smith to Billie Holiday, with favorites like Robert Johnson, Janis Joplin, Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave; Inky Glass’ sound is smokey, achy, and opaque. She is to the bones blue. www.inkyglass.com
- Kristi Martel, January 29-31: Voted
Rhode Island's Best Female Alt-Rock Vocalist, songwriter
and avant-soul piano diva Kristi Martel has been featured on MTV/LOGO, NPR, WERS, and in Curve Magazine. Her powerful voice is at once sweet and bitter,
emotional and visionary, articulating prayers and quirky
autobiographical narratives in the same breath. Through Sealed Lip
Records she has released six CDs. Her newest album Ravengirl is full of joy, with the healing and transformation Kristi has undergone after her former life partner's suicide in 2003. Ravengirl received
a "highly recommended" from the Providence Journal and stellar reviews
from Motif Magazine, Bay Windows, Curve Magazine, and the Providence
Phoenix. Kristi has just recorded demos for her next full-length CD,
Sacred Whore. The work focuses on the
universal in our human experience and our need for inner and world
peace. www.kristimartel.com

I've grown up with Peter Paul and Mary, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline...I grew into Joni Mitchel and Cat Stevens and served french fries to John Prine. Fortunately, my music is aging well all by itself." Pamme also hosts a radio show on WRCU 90.1 at Colgate University promoting local music. Currently she is recording her new CD, "Above the Fray" and hopes to have it released in the spring of 2010. www.pammeswan.com/home.html
